Towns declare Halloween night as only Trick-or-Treat night

The Cities of Hazlehurst and Wesson will celebrate Halloween on the actual day ¬– October 31.
“We will be out in full force to ensure the safety of all. We  are asking parents to supervise their children. We will enforce the curfew depending  on the conduct of children. I know that this is the time for dark costumes, but we encourage trick-or-treaters to wear light-colored clothing when possible,” explained Hazlehurst Police Chief Byron Swilley.
The usual rule applies when crossing the street – be careful.
Finally, Chief Swilley wants the business community to be on the lookout for suspicious people who might use this occasion to commit crimes.  “If someone is wearing a mask comes into your place of business, please call the police.  If someone is riding around with a mask on, please contact the police. “It is better to be safe than sorry,” cautioned Chief Swilley.
“I want everyone to have a safe and happy Halloween,” stated Chief Swilley.
