BREAKING NEWS: VANDALS HIT TRAIN STATION WAITING AREA
Three juvenile males have been identified and will be charged with vandalizing the booth and the sign at the train station over the weekend, says Hazlehurst Police.
“Two of the children are 11 years old and one is 12,” stated Hazlehurst Police Chief Byron Swilley.
“An anonymous citizen actually saw them destroying the booth and called the police,” Swilley said Monday. Because of the detailed descriptions of the subjects provided by the caller, police officers were able to identify them and contact their parents, who cooperated fully with the officers, explained Swilley.
Charges will be filed in youth court for restitution, Swilley said. The booth is owned by Canadian Northern Railroad and has been used by hundreds of train patrons over the past few years.
