Wesson to celebrate 22nd Founders Day
The Wesson Chamber of Commerce is making plans for the 2012 Founders Day, scheduled for April 27 and 28. Held every year since 1990, the event marks its twenty-second year. Major sponsors for the event include Copiah Bank, Trustmark Bank, Entergy, BW Turner Construction and Yeager Auto Sales.
Gospel groups will entertain on Friday night, April 27 at the stage downtown. On Saturday, entertainment will be provided throughout the day from local talent. Winterzchild will take the stage at 5:30, followed by a performance by the Dixieland Cloggers around 6:30. The street dance begins at 7 p.m. with music provided by Cowboy Blues until 10 p.m.
Founders Day parade is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Street vendors will be scattered around the fesitval area. Kids will have plenty by which to be entertained with fun jumps and other amusements in the Kids Zone. A classic car show will be held during the day, as well.
