Blood drive on track for January 11

Hazlehurst Walmart will hold a community blood drive on Friday, January 11, from 12 – 6 p.m.
The Mississippi Blood Services (MBS) Donor Coach will be on site. All donors will receive a free T-shirt and a gift card (while supplies last).
“Mississippi Blood Services (MBS) wants to remind you that January is Blood Donor Awareness month. What better way to start the New Year off than by giving someone else the gift of a lifetime. Donating blood is one of the most personal ways you can help another, because you are literally giving a piece of yourself,” said Susan Ates, MBS public relations specialist.
“Donating blood is as easy as sitting back and rolling up your sleeve.  But its impact can last a lifetime for patients, their families and their communities,” continued Ates.
Donating blood is safe, simple and it saves lives. Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with signed parental consent, visit our Web site for a copy of the form), weigh at least 110 pounds and have a valid ID. Visit us at msblood.com or call us at (888) 90-BLOOD (902-5663) for information. You can also visit our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/give2live and follow MSbloodservices on Twitter.
