Higdon honored by B.A.L.L. club

The Mt Zion Baptist Church’s Senior Adult, B.A.L.L. CLUB met on Jan. 8 in the Fellowship Room for their monthly luncheon.

The president, Dorsie McKnight welcomed the group and checked if anyone had made a New Year’s resolution.

Birthday and anniversary people for the month were congratulated.

There are many in the church family, community and friends that were listed on the prayer list and Mr. J. C. Smith led in pray.

This month Mr. George Higdon was recognized for his service to our shut-ins.  For the past five years, week after week he has delivered a CD of that week’s sermon and his last one was taken home to his wife.  He is proving at the age of 85 delivering the message of Jesus can still be done.
Pastor, Bro. Chris DeGeorge presented the program, taken from the bible, 2 Corinthians 4: 1-12.  The message tells us, we are met with many tribulations, in our life, but are supported in and through all by the grace of God.
