Bid on carriage ride at Heart Affair

A SLOWER TIME – Every year the Copiah County Chapter of the American Heart Association sponsors their annual fundraising event, the Heart Affair. Billy and Cathy Mangold of Mangold Carriage Rentals are donating a lovely carriage ride as one of the many items in this year’s live auction. Billy took David Yowell, Carol Scott, Nixie Davis and Alice Moreland out for an afternoon stroll down memory lane in the carriage on Sunday.

For over 30 years, the American Heart Association’s Copiah County Chapter has held the Heart Affair to raise funds for research.  Through ticket sales and silent and live auctions, the event has sent close to $1 million to the state organization.
This year’s Heart Affair, scheduled for February 23 at Rolling Hills Country Club,, features a carriage ride, donated by Billy and Cathy Mangold of Hazlehurst.  The winning bidder will help the Copiah chapter reach its fund-raising goal of $23,000.  However much is raised, the amount will add to the over $2.5 million that stays in Mississippi each year for research.
The opportunity to win the carriage ride is just one of many items that will be available for bidding at the 2013 Heart Affair.  This year’s theme is Black Tie and Blue Jeans. The event will be held this Saturday, February 23, at 6:30 p.m at Rolling Hills Country Club in Crystal Springs.  Tickets are $50 per person or $150 for Patron Couple and are available by contacting Carol Scott at (601) 894-4341 or Nixie Davis at (601) 894-2135.
