UTICA – Chanta Poole and Jessica Wilson combined for 32 points to lead the Co-Lin Lady Wolves to a 68-50 South Division win over the Hinds Lady Bulldogs. The Lady Wolves improve to 19-3 overall and 10-1 in the South Division. Co-Lin will close out the regular season on Thursday when they host the Pearl River Lady Wildcats on Sophomore Night. The Lady Wolves held a slim 1-point lead, 29-28 at the half.
Co-Lin, playing without their leading scorer and rebounder Vintrice Briggs, outscored the Lady Bulldogs 39-22 in the second half. Briggs, the 5-8 sophomore from Roxie, missed the game due to injury.
The Lady Wolves out rebounded Hinds 51-39. Co-Lin shot 33 percent (24-of-73) from the field while the Lady Bulldogs also shot 33 percent (20-of-61).
Sophomore Jessica Jackson chipped in 11 points for the Lady Wolves. Leading off the backboards were Wilson and Tiffany Sims. Sims added four steals. Poole, T’Keya Moore, and Ashley Minor dished out three assists apiece.
Shelley Griffith, Mozetta Greenwood and Quen’meka Shaw led the Lady Bulldogs with 11 points apiece. Shaw and Rajee McDonald led off the backboards with 5 rebounds each.
