BREAKING: SHAW RE-ELECTED AS MAYOR OF WESSON

Voters in Wesson went to the polls today, Tuesday, June 4 to decide the town’s next mayor.  After the voice count was over this evening, incumbent Mayor Alton Shaw will retain his position.
Unofficial totals showed Shaw with 270 votes to challenger Pete Skinner’s 161.
Four incumbent aldermen were re-elected without a challenge: Van Graham, at large; Mike Douglas, Ward 1; John Welter, Jr., Ward 2; and, Billy Ellison, Ward 3.  Mike King was elected in Ward 4 with no challenger and will replace retiring Bobby Britt.
The totals must be certified within 10 days and then reported to the Secretary of State’s office.
