City of Hazlehurst focusing neglected properties

The Hazlehurst Board of Aldermen continued their efforts to clean-up neglected properties and responsibly re-open a night club and accepted the resignation of a judge during their monthly meeting on June 4.
The board has received numerous complaints about neglected property in the city. The city is moving to contact property owners, give them the chance to clean up their property, have public hearings when necessary before the city sets in to clean-up the property. The properties included in this effort are located at 225 State Street, 561 Gallatin Street and 520 West Gallatin Street and on St. Charles Street, Haley Street and Jackson Street.
