Holloway to host Lawrence Pillers-Roy Lee Hilton Youth Football and Cheerleader Camp June 28

HAZLEHURST—Rep. Greg Holloway will host the Second Annual Lawrence Pillers-Roy Lee Hilton Youth Football and Cheerleader Camp on Friday, June 28, from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Hazlehurst High School in Hazlehurst.
The free camp is designed for children ages 8-18 who live in Copiah County. Participation is limited to 200.
Rep. Greg Holloway will be at the Hazlehurst City Hall on Saturday, June 15  with applications for this year’s camp.
Pillers, of the San Francisco 49ers, and Hilton, of the Baltimore Colts, are both former residents of Hazlehurst who played on Super Bowl winning teams. They developed the idea to sponsor the camp while they were being honored with a resolution at the Capitol during the 2011 Regular Legislative Session.  Representative Holloway requested the resolutions.
Several former National Football League players from the state of Mississippi will volunteer at the camp to teach the techniques and fundamentals of football.  Some of the players who will be on-hand include: Ben Williams, of the Buffalo Bills; Jeffrey Moore, of the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, and Washington Redskins; Eddie Payton, of the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions; Vernon Perry, of the Houston Oilers and New Orleans Saints; Donald Dykes, of the New York Jets; Dave Washington, of the Denver Broncos, Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers, Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints; and special guest volunteer, Nate Hughes who currently  plays for the Detroit Lions.  Hughes is the only active NFL player. For more information, please call Rep. Greg Holloway at (601)894-4228.
