Brushy Creek announces renovation banquet Aug. 16

Brushy Creek New Hope District Association announces details for its Renovation Banquet. The banquet will be held Friday, Aug. 16, at 6 p.m. at the Copiah County Ministerial Alliance in Hazlehurst. Rev. Contrail Pate of the Divine Destiny Church of Canton will be the guest speaker. Rev. Alvin Day will be featured as soloist.

The Association’s aim is to raise $10,000 or more to assist with the renovation of the old Brushy Creek School. District Association Moderator’s, Dr. Lennell McGee Jr.’s vision is to see the school reopen as a Christian Academy to serve children K-4 with an emphasis on Science, Math and Foreign Language.

Hundreds of neighborhood students have attended the school and become successful, productive citizens of varied professions. The banquet will provide an opportunity for former students and teachers to gather and reminisce of past years’ experiences.
