The Hazlehurst Farmers Market in downtown Hazlehurst on Ragsdale Avenue is now open each Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. The market is held in and around the Hidalgo Memorial Park Pavilion next to the railroad.
According to David Yowell, Market Manager, the harvest time is later this year than last year, but vendors are bringing a healthy supply of vegetables, preserves, flowers and an assortment of crafts. This year’s market will offer dairy fresh products such as milk and cheese. These products must be pre-ordered and pre-paid. Various craft vendors will be on hand, as well.
The market is slated to open on Tuesday afternoon from 3-6 p.m. sometime later in the season, as well.
