Rockin Railroad seeks vendors
One of the most favorite aspects of the previous four Rockin’ Railroad Festivals has been the variety of arts and crafts vendors that have been a part of the event. This year’s festival, scheduled for September 28 in downtown Hazlehurst, is no exception.
“Right now we have around 15 that have committed,” said Randal Day, Executive Director of the Hazlehurst Area Chamber of Commerce and co-chair of the 2013 festival.
The committee wants more, and, more importantly, so do those who attend the event each year.
“We’ve had good feedback from festival-goers about the variety and quality of vendors. Hopefully, this year we’ll have even more,” Day added.
Vendor forms are available at the Chamber office on Ragsdale Avenue in the Depot and online at hazlechamber.com. Artisan spaces are $60 for a 12’x12’ and electricity. Each vendor must pay their sales tax from the day before they leave, as well.
“We want your items to fly out of your tents and into the shoppers’ hands,” Day added.
The second annual Rockin’ Railroad Trail Run will also be held at Hood Boy Scout Reservation. Visit http://www.racesonline.com to register. The 7 a.m. event kicks off the festival. Pre-registration is $20, and day-of registration is $25.
The festival kicks off at 10 a.m. features an afternoon of musical entertainment headlined by American Idol performer Sklyar Laine of Brandon, a kid zone, a classic car show, food vendors and a book fair. Vendor set-up begins at 7:00. For more information, visit the chamber’s website or call 601-894-3752.
