Two teams with combined record of 1-12 met in Stone Stadium on the Co-Lin campus in Wesson on Friday night searching for a way to win. One came out with its first victory, and the other is still looking for answers, as Wesson defeated Crystal Springs 55-53.
The Cobras (1-6, 1-1) fell behind 14-0 early in the first period. Tigers quarterback Jerricko Morris scored on a three yard run, then added the 2 point conversion on a completed pass to Jeremy Archie to lead 8-0. Crystal Springs added another touchdown later in the period on a 19 yard run by RB Jarred Taylor. The PAT was no good.
