Animal Angel Tree benefits BARL dogs, cats

Brookhaven, MS — The Brookhaven Animal Rescue League (BARL) has a special Christmas tree set up at PetSense in Brookhaven, known as the “Animal Angel Tree.”    The tree has ornaments on it featuring photos of adoptable pets, and Wish Lists fromBARL’s dogs and cats.
Wondering what could be on their wish lists?  The dogs are looking for new or used harnesses, collars and leashes so volunteers can take them for a walk.  Other hot items on their lists are chew toys, squeaky toys, rawhides, chew bones and lots of treats to keep them entertained and happy.  And since fleas really get on their nerves, the dogs would like some Frontline to keep those pesky bugs away.

The cats want toys and more toys.  They get bored easily.  Stick feather toys, jingle toys and even some toys with catnip.  They are also asking for scratching posts, cardboard cubes and clumpable litter.

All the dogs and cats asked for soft beds and blankets (new or used); and, the puppies wouldlike some Purina Puppy Chow.

The volunteers want to add dog and cat shampoo to their wish lists.  This doesn’t necessarily make the animals happy, but it is good for them and needed.

PetSense is located at 937 Brookway Boulevard behind Wendy’s.
