WIRE REPORT: Indian coach Montgomery has accepted 6A job

Hazlehurst Indian head football coach Randal Montgomery is moving on, reports say.  Montgomery, who in three years guided the Indians to three state 3A championship game appearances and one title, has accepted the same position at Columbus High School out of Region 2-6A.
Montgomery’s teams put up 43 wins and only 4 losses and captured the Region 7-3A title each year.  Several of his former players have made impacts at regional junior colleges, as well.
Attempts to reach Montgomery this afternoon have failed.  Follow the complete story in next week’s issue of the Courier.
