Dr. Porter to speak to Fifty Plus

Dr. Jimmy D. Porter, Executive Director-Treasurer of the Mississippi Baptist Christian Action Commission, Inc., will be the luncheon speaker at the Jan. 16 meeting of the Fifty-Plus Club in the Anderson Building on the Copiah-Lincoln Community College campus.

Dr, Porter began work with the Chirstian Action Commission in April 2000. He and the 15 member commission work to implement policies and work as authorized by the Mississippi Baptist Convention.

As the Executive Director, he monitors pending state and national legislation and provides information and resources that will assist in responding to the issues that affect the moral climate of the state and the nation. He has served as church pastor in Florida, Kentucky, and Mississippi. His last pastorate was at First Baptist Church of McComb.

The meeting will begin at 10:45, but members and guests are welcome to come early to visit and share a cup of coffee.
