Copiah loses tough series to East Rankin

The Colonels were looking to shake off their last district fall to Oak Forest last Tuesday, April 1, as they hosted East Rankin. Copiah had beaten the Patriots back in February with a score of 6-5.

The Colonels jumped to a 1-0 lead in the second inning, as P. Murphy hit an RBI single that scored Lingle in from third. The Patriots would bounce back in the third inning, scoring two runs and taking the lead, 2-1. The Colonels would tie the game back up at 2 runs a piece in the fourth inning when Acey stole home on a wild pitch. Copiah scored their third run in the fifth inning, as Frazier doubled, allowing K. Drew to score fro second. East Rankin tied the game back up at 3 all in the sixth inning.
