Dr. Smith receives degree; to Fellow in Columbus, GA

His dissertation, entitled “The Impact of the Color Complex on the Self-Esteem of African Americans” was published Jan. 14.
Dr. Smith recently accepted a position as a Forensic Psychology Fellow at West Central Georgia Regional Hospital in Columbus, GA. As a Forensic Psychology Fellow, Dr. Smith will be receiving specialized training in providing court-ordered pretrial forensic psychological evaluations to answer questions of competency to stand trial and/or criminal responsibility as a neutral friend of the court.
He will also receive further training in violence risk, report preparation, expert court testimony, and behavior analysis/experience in writing and supervising behavior programs. After receiving the State’s required hours for licensure, Dr. Smith will be eligible to pursue licensure as a Clinical Psychologist and certification as a Certified Forensic Examiner
