Sorority holds meeting for young men Nov. 15

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Pike County Alumni Chapter, will hold a meeting for young men, “Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence” EMBODI, Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. until 12:15. The meeting will be held at 2143 E. Whitworth in Hazlehurst. African-American males age 13-18 are invited.

Presenters include Attorney Dexter Woodberry, Attorney Nathaniel Armistad, and Sergeant Dwayne Williams.

The goals of EMBODI are:

•To expand the horizons of young African American males by cultivating a personal vision for their lives.

•To provide tools for participants to attain a higher quality of life.

•To provide participants with an awareness of various college and career options to make rewarding life choices and decisions.

•To create community-minded participants by actively involving them in service learning and community service opportunities.
