Cobras split with Bogue Chitto, Salem

The Lady Cobras lost a close game to the Lady Bobcats with a 39-41 final score. Wesson Junior Jashia Smith led the Lady Cobras’ offense with a total of 12 points. Senior Kayla Britt scored 11 points which included one 3-point shot. The Lady Cobras were 7/19 in free throw action.
Coach Rusty Newman commented, “We played terrible in the first half of the game but bounced back after half time. We made too many careless mistakes and could not pull the win. I’m proud of the girls for playing hard. We will get back to work to prepare for our next game.”
Wesson 61  Salem 44
The Lady Cobras beat the Lady Wildcats Friday night with a 61-44 upset.  Wesson led the game with top scorer Jashia Smith scoring 16 points including one 3 pointer. Smith also led in defense with a total of 8 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 assist. Another top Lady Cobra player was Tashay Glasper with 14 points which included two 3 pointers, 3 steals and 1 assist. The Lady Cobras suffered at the free throw line with a disappointing 3/14 attempts.
Coach Rusty Newman commented, “The girls played well tonight.  Offensively, we executed well and played together. This was a good win for us.”
