City working to prevent more accidents at Frost St.crossing

SEEKING MORE PROTECTION – The City of Hazlehurst is working with Dist. 76 representative Gregory Holloway to have guard rails placed at the Frost Street crossing. A local resident was killed in a train-car collision there in late 2013.

Mayor Henry Banks convened the monthly Hazlehurst city board meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, with all five aldermen present. Minutes were approved, and there was no old or new business. Alderman Shirley Sandifer requested and received unanimous approval of a resolution approving the Fair Housing and CDBG section 3 awards previously announced.
