HAZLEHURST, Miss. — Hardy Wilson Hospital will be holding a blood drive with Mississippi Blood Services (MBS) on Tuesday, April 9, from 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. The MBS Donor Coach will be at the Hardy Wilson Hospital located in Hazlehurst. Donors will receive a T-shirt. Donors can now check their overall cholesterol levels on their MBSConnect account.
“The old adage: ‘It’s better to give than receive,’ is never more true than when applied to blood donations,” Susan Ates, MBS PR Specialist said. “But if a patient needs to receive blood, it’s one of those things he or she hopes is there. Blood donors make difference – many times their simple gift is the difference between life and death. That’s a gift worth giving.”
Donating blood is safe, simple and it saves lives. Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with signed parental consent, visit our Web site for a copy of the form), weigh at least 110 pounds and have a valid ID.
