Lynice Higgins Phi Alpha Honor Society inductee

Lynice Higgins, a Jackson State University Master of Social Work graduate student was inducted into the Phi Alpha Honor Society at a pinning ceremony on March 20, 2015.

The purpose of Phi Alpha Honor Society is to provide a closer bond among students of social work and promote humanitarian goals and ideals. Phi Alpha fosters high standards of education for social workers and invites into membership those who have attained excellence in scholarship and achievement in social work.

Phi Alpha Honor Society is a Social Work’s internationally recognized honor society.  It is Social Work’s largest honor society.  Membership is extended to students that have met high standards and respected by employers, social workers and college admissions. Students are given national presentation opportunities and lifetime membership.

At the March 20 induction ceremony, Miss Higgins was selected Vice President of the Jackson State University Master of Social Work Phi Alpha Chapter.

Miss Higgins is the daughter of Charles and Barbara Higgins of Hazlehurst.  The granddaughter of Vernice Jones (Matthew) of Hazlehurst and Lynoris Higgins of Utica.
