Hazlehurst summer food program feeds for free
With summer right around the corner, it’s time to think about keeping children healthy while school is out. Hazlehurst City School District provides free meals to children during the summer.
This summer meals are being served at Hazlehurst PreK-8 cafeteria. Summer feeding began June 1 and will end on July 24. Breakfast will be served from 7:15 a.m. until 8 a.m. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The summer feeding program will be closed on July 3. There are not income requirements or registration. Any child age 18 and under may come to eat. For more information call 601-894-1512.
Each year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture partners with local organizations like Hazlehurst City School District, to provide free meals to children when school is out for the summer.
