100-mile, $11 million paving project to begin June 29

The Copiah County Board of Supervisors issued a notice to proceed on the $11 million road overlay bond project to contractor Superior Asphalt during the June 10 meeting.

Over 100 miles of county roads will be paved during this project, which is funded by $11 million in general obligation road and bridge bonds.

The contractor has until February to finish. Paving is expected to begin before the end of June.
