Johnson accepted into MSA in Brookhaven

Dawson Johnson
During the admission process, Dawson was required to send in an application, a five piece writing portfolio, three teacher recommendations, and a two-page essay. The final process included attending an onsite interview and participating in a writing audition.
Previously a student at Wesson High School, Dawson excelled in her studies as an honor roll student. She was also a member of the marching band, Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), and had recently been inducted into the National Honor Society. She has also been chosen to participate as a member of the Mississippi Scholars Program during her remaining high school years at MSA.
Dawson is 16 and says she is looking forward to meeting new people at the school she will attend in the fall. She is the daughter of Sandra Johnson of Hazlehurst and Norris Callahan of Atlanta, Georgia; the granddaughter of Ernestine Johnson and J.W. Johnson, Jr.; and the great granddaughter of Dorothy Johnson and the late J.W. Johnson, Sr., all of Hazlehurst.
