Celebrating Dr. Seuss

HUMC Child Care & Preschool celebrated Dr. Seuss Week with members of the community taking time out to read to the children. Many thanks to Mr. Ron Sims, Monday reader; Mr. Arthur L. Evans, Jr., Tuesday reader; members of the Hazlehurst Fire Department, Wednesday readers; Officer Bonnie Stapleton from the Hazleurst Police Department, Friday reader. On this day the children and staff also enjoyed Green Eggs & Ham prepared by our own nutritionist Mrs. Patricia Greenleaf. On Thursday, Dr. Seuss’s Birthday, we enjoyed the antincs of Te’Jah Fuller and Keionna Jones (Hazlehurst High School Seniors), who played Thing 1 and Thing 2, and Mrs. Jennifer Ellis, aka “The Cat in the Hat”. They really made the morning great by visiting each classroomand reading to the children. They entertained as only The Cat in the Hat & Thing 1 & Thing 2 would do. Thanks to Ms. Taylor (Hazlehurst High School sponsor) for allowing the ladies to participate in Dr. Seuss Week.
