Stovall breaks out in Colonels’ 35-14 win
The second quarter of Friday night’s game in Gallman was just what the doctor ordered for the Copiah Academy Colonels in the team’s 35-14 victory over the Winston Academy Patriots. Trailing 7-0 and having failed to score an offensive touchdown in the first 9 quarters of the season, Copiah Head Coach Paul Anderson made a switch at quarterback, inserting sophomore quarterback Eli McCrory and moved struggling junior QB Dalton Hayles to running back. The rotation occurred as the Colonels were pinned at their own 1 yard line following a 43 yard punt by the Patriots with 7:57 left in the quarter.
