Sylvarena Baptist Church celebrates 120 years Sept. 9

Sylvarena Baptist Church, 1119 Old Sylvarena Rd., Wesson, is celebrating 120 years of service Sunday, Sept. 9, beginning at 10 a.m., Sunday school, followed by worship service at 10:45. A covered dish luncheon will be held after services.
Dr. Donald (Donnie) Payne will be the guest speaker. He and his wife, Charlotte, ministered at Sylvarena from September 1984, until April 1989. He is now serving at Forest Lake Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, AL.
