Lady Colonels claim second place in Class 6A, finish with 22 wins

By Joe Coates The 2019 MAIS fastpitch season has come to a close, and the Copiah Academy Lady Colonels can hold their heads after having earned second place in Class 6A. Copiah defeated Jackson Prep and Parklane Academy in the state tournament on Sept. 28 and 30, advancing to the best-of-3 championship series during the first week of October. Parklane’s Lady Pioneers qualified for the series by defeating Jackson Prep in a losers’ bracket game, and the two best teams in 6A all season were matched up for the title.
