The Chautauqua Garden Club of Crystal Springs announces its Annual Christmas Lighting Contest will be held Thursday, Dec. 12 from 6 until 8 p.m. Those who wish to be considered for judging are asked to please have Christmas decor up and lights on for these two hours. The contest is for homes only in the Crystal Springs city limits. General rules are to conceal spotlights and electrical cords and use some fresh plant material in decorating. Also, winners of first place last year are ineligible for first place in the same category this year unless decorations have been changed. The categories are Best Door, Best Window, Best Overall, Best Commercial (decorations must be visible from the street; may be indoor or outdoor), True Meaning of Christmas and Children’s Christmas. The public is invited to decorate some part of their homes or yards to beautify Crystal Springs with holiday decor and shine thousands of lights.
