MacDowell Music Club’s A Grand Night, Friday, March 27

The MacDowell Music Club of Crystal Springs had a very festive meeting Feb. 8 at the lovely home of member Barbara Fisch. Thanks to Barbara, Babs Wood and other helpers, there were Mardi Gras decorations everywhere–beads, masks, frilly umbrellas and “white hankies.” Hostesses were Gayle Easter, Kathy Lee, Jan Cohn and Nancy Sullivan. Delicious refreshments which included a King Cake were enjoyed by 23 members and two guests. It was noted that the April meeting has been moved to the 19th, still at First Baptist Church. Inza Calloway reported on A Grand Night and had posters and tickets provided by Margaret Druetta to hand out. The program is Friday, March 27 at First Baptist Church. All club members were encouraged to spread the word so we will have the usual packed house. This year’s program will be in memory of Mrs. Edith Kitchens, a longtime piano teacher and member of the MacDowell Music Club. The next meeting of the music club is March 14 at the City Library. Program coordinator is Joan Ervin. The program will be on the Broadway play “Annie.” Hostesses are Faye Fife (chair), Martha Mathews, and Betty Cline. Accompanist for the meeting is Bettye Sledge.
