Larry Bell

Larry Douglas Bell, 78, left this world on July 29, 2024, to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, whom he had faithfully served for many years at home with his family with him.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 1, at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs. The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 2, at Stringer Family Chapel, with burial at Harmony Cemetery.
Larry was an active member of First Baptist Church, Crystal Springs.
Larry was born in Yazoo City on July 11, 1946, to John Clifford Bell Jr. and Mamie Nell Bradley Bell. He grew up and spent most of his life in Crystal Springs. He graduated from Crystal Springs High School in 1964. He attended Co-Lin Community College and earned an associate degree in drafting technology. He worked for General Equipment Manufacturers then Sheldon Laboratory System in Crystal Springs for 47 years. Larry loved fishing, building and doing all sorts of projects. He loved to travel and spend time with friends and family. He loved to play guitar in his younger years. He loved music and running sound at church.
Larry married his wife, Mary Kate Card Bell, on May 4, 1969, celebrating 55 years together this year. He had one son, Mark Douglas Bell.
Larry served in the Mississippi National Guard 162nd Military Police Company Crystal Springs for six years.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, John Clifford Bell Jr. and Mamie Nell Bradley Bell.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Kate Card Bell; son, Mark Douglas Bell, and wife Kerry; brother, Thomas Earl Bell, and wife Caren, of Crystal Springs; sister-in-law, Lois Card, of Fayette, Ala.; brothers-in-law, Delbert Card, and wife Judy, Tommy Card, and wife Diane, all of Macon; and a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved like his own children.
