Douglas Davis

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Douglas G. Davis, who left us peacefully on Oct. 31, 2024, at the age of 75. Born on May 27 in Hazlehurst, Douglas lived a life filled with kindness, laughter, and love. He was a devoted husband to Rhonda Davis and a loving father to Wayne Davis and Allison Taylor. Douglas cherished his family and took immense pride in being a guiding presence in their lives, touching everyone who knew him with his warmth and wisdom.

A graduate of Crystal Springs High School, Douglas enjoyed a successful career in various fields, where he was respected for his dedication and expertise. He was known for his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. With a passion for hunting, mechanics, and the outdoors, Douglas found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time outdoors, sharing stories with friends, and creating beautiful memories with his family. His adventurous spirit and positive outlook inspired those around him.

Douglas is survived by his wife, Rhonda Davis; children, Wayne Davis and Allison Taylor; grandchildren, Jomichael, Joshua, and Brandon Taylor; four great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Hedgepeth; along with countless friends and colleagues who will miss his infectious smile and generous heart.

A celebration of Douglas’ life will be held at 11 a.m., Nov. 5, at Stringer Funeral Home in Crystal Springs, with visitation starting at 10.  The burial will be at Gallman Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Gallman Baptist Church in his memory.

Douglas G. Davis will be remembered for his unwavering love, laughter, and the profound impact he had on the lives of those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion that will continue to inspire us all. Rest in peace, dear Douglas; you will be deeply missed.
