Delton Wayne McCurley

Delton Wayne McCurley, of Hazlehurst, passed away Jan. 16, 2025. The funeral will be at noon, Saturday, Jan. 18, at Stringer Family Chapel, with a burial at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. The visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, at the funeral home.

Delton was one of those men you didn’t forget. It could have been because of his straightforward approach to life. If he liked you, you knew it. If he didn’t like, boy did you know it. But mostly, he will be remembered for his love and devotion for his family and friends. If you needed him, he was there. His family, friends, and community will be lost without him. God has a very special angel with him now.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Riley McCurley Jr; mother, Mildred Stephens McCurley; brother, John (Speedy) McCurley; and sister, Billie Sue McCurley Mayes.

He is survived by his sister, Barbara Miller (Tommy), of Soso; brother, Robert McCurley, of Hazlehurst; soulmate, Carolyn Justice and her granddaughter, Laura; and a host of nieces and nephews.
