Ronnie McLemore

Ronnie D. McLemore, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on March 9, 2025, at his home in Hazlehurst, at the age of 80. Born on May 8, 1944, in Hazlehurst to Malvin and Mable McLemore, Ronnie was a man of faith and love whose impact on those around him will be cherished and missed.

Throughout Ronnie’s life, he accomplished many great things. He was employed for 38 years with Bechtel Power Corporation. He was a lifetime member of Bethel Baptist Church in Hazlehurst, where he served as a deacon. He was a mentor, friend, and servant of God. Ronnie’s life was enriched by many hobbies, which included spending time with his family, hunting, and gardening. Ronnie loved to share his knowledge with all those around him. When not at his home in Mississippi, he enjoyed spending time in his rocking chair with his wife of 62 years at their Tennessee cabin, watching the moon rise over the mountains.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Malvin and Mable McLemore; his brother, Malvin Gene McLemore; his sister, Dorothy McLemore White; and his sister, Christine McLemore Hemphill.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Montiel McLemore; son, Dwayne McLemore (Pam); son, Steve McLemore (Kim); grandson, Brandon McLemore (Jordan); granddaughter, Kristen McLemore Lott (Whit); great-grandchildren, Bailen and Mathis McLemore; and special nephew, Tony Hemphill (Patti).

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, March 11. The funeral service will be held on at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 12. All services will be held at Bethel Baptist Church in Hazlehurst.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Bethel Baptist Church at 1189 Bethel Lane, Hazlehurst, MS 39083.
