Harper Renee Medders
Our precious daughter, Harper Renee Medders, entered the arms of Jesus on April 21, 2025. She was surrounded by her loving family and in the arms of her parents, Justin and Brooke Medders. Harper was born on April 12, 2024, bringing joy, laughter, and immeasurable love into our lives from the very start.
Though her time with us was brief, Harper lived a life overflowing with happiness, tender cuddles, and more sweetness than we could have ever imagined. Harper loved being with family and friends, but no one made her light up like her big sister, Avery. They spent every day playing and laughing, with Avery showering Harper in constant kisses and lovingly calling her “Boochie.” Harper’s big smile truly brought light to everyone who knew her. Those in Leland knew most afternoons to look along Deer Creek to see our family out for a walk, one of Harper’s favorite pastimes.
We grieve her loss deeply, but we take such comfort and hope in the promises of God. We know that Harper is made whole and took her first steps into the arms of Jesus.
Harper is lovingly remembered by her parents, sister, and other family members: grandparents, Scott and Jennifer Deaton, Sonny and Renee Beeland, Jim and Suzy Medders; great-grandparents, John and Linda Hoover, Sandra Deaton Matthews, Zilphia Shearer; uncle, Nathan Deaton; along with many other family members who will forever cherish her memory.
A memorial of Harper’s life will be held at Parkway Baptist Church, Clinton. Visitations will be from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, May 2; and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, May 3, with a service following. All who knew and loved her are invited to join us as we honor her life and the everlasting hope we have in Christ. In keeping with her joy, please join us in wearing bright clothing.
The Medders Family would like to thank the many medical personnel who cared for Harper: Leland First Responders, DRMC ER staff, Pafford Flight Crew, South Sunflower County Hospital staff, and Children’s of Mississippi Neurology, Therapy Services, ER ,and PICU medical professionals.
