Rev. Albert Brown Weeks III
Rev. Albert Brown Weeks III passed away on June 15, 2025, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He was 84.
A service celebrating his life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 19, at Damascus Baptist Church, with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow at Damascus Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.
Born in Jackson, Albert made Hazlehurst his home for many years. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 22 years, including time in Vietnam, before retiring with honor. Following his military service, he worked as a dedicated truck driver for MCH Transportation. In addition to his professional accomplishments, he was an ordained Southern Baptist minister and remained deeply committed to his faith throughout his life.
Albert was also very active in the American Legion in Wesson, where he built strong bonds with fellow veterans and continued to serve his community with distinction.
He is survived by daughter, Janet Rosemand; daughter-in-law, Karen Weeks; grandchildren, Charles Hydrick, Tiffany Russell, Donald Free, Heather Harrington, and Brad Bennett; and seven great-grandchildren.
Albert was preceded in death by his wife, Pam Weeks; his daughter, Mary Brown; his son, Albert Brown Weeks IV; and his parents, Albert Brown Weeks II and Jose Katie McNair Weeks.
