Caroline Pitts
Caroline Yvonne Wages Pitts, 82, of Crystal Springs, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Dec. 20, 2025.
Born on Jan. 28, 1943, in Memphis, Tenn., Caroline was the daughter of Clyde and Frances Wages. She was raised in Jackson and graduated from Central High School in 1961. Shortly thereafter, she began a lifelong partnership with her beloved husband, Billy C. Pitts Sr., united in both marriage and business.
In 1962, Caroline and Billy opened B&C Auto Supply in Crystal Springs. Together, they owned and operated the business for decades until Caroline’s retirement. Their dedication to hard work, integrity, and one another left a lasting impact on the community they faithfully served.
Caroline was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Crystal Springs, where her faith guided her life and relationships.
Family was the heart of Caroline’s life. She cherished her roles as wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is lovingly survived by her two sons, Billy C. Pitts Jr. (Kitty), of Crystal Springs, and Daniel C. Pitts (Rebecca), of Yorktown, Va. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Todd A. Pitts (Caroline), of Birmingham, Ala.; Adam L. Pitts (Lindsay), of Vestavia, Ala.; and Michael Thomas Hokolani Pitts, of Yorktown, Va.; and her great-grandchildren, Charles Milan “Charlie” Pitts and Robert James “Rob” Pitts. She is also survived by her sisters, Denise “Dennie” Sandefer (Mike), of Guntersville, Ala., and Pamela Anderson (John), of Raymond.
Caroline was preceded in death by her husband, Billy C. Pitts Sr.; her parents, Clyde and Frances Wages; and her grandson, Alex William Pitts.
Known for her warmth and generosity, Caroline had a special gift for making others feel loved–especially during holidays and celebrations. She delighted in sharing treasured family recipes and presenting beautifully-wrapped gifts adorned with bows she crafted herself. Her cooking brought comfort and joy to many and was one of the countless ways she expressed love.
Caroline also found joy in playing Bunko with friends, participating in several groups over the years. These gatherings were filled with laughter, friendship, and the vibrant spirit she so freely shared. She was a constant presence at school events, ballgames, and performances, never missing an opportunity to support and spoil her grandchildren with affection.
Her kindness extended well beyond her family into the broader community, where she was admired for her dedication, gracious nature, and the quiet strength with which she lived her life.
A funeral service honoring Caroline’s life was held at Stringer Funeral Home in Crystal Springs on Dec. 27. Burial was at Crystal Springs City Cemetery.
Caroline Yvonne Wages Pitts leaves behind a legacy of love rooted in faith, family devotion, hard work, and joyful generosity. May her memory bring comfort and peace to all who knew and loved her.
