Frances Goza

Frances Goza, 94, passed away on Jan. 5, 2026, at her residence. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8, at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst. The service will be at 11 on Thursday at Stringer Family Chapel, with burial at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.

Mrs. Frances was a lifelong resident of Copiah County and a lifelong member of Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church. She volunteered at the Food Pantry at Bethesda Methodist Church. She worked at Herring Gas Co. for many years.

She was a wonderful cook and baker, as was known by several people in the surrounding area. She loved her God, children, grandchildren, and animals.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie L. Goza, and parents, John E. Stegall and Nellie Stegall.

She is survived by her son, Jimmie L. Goza Jr.; daughter, Brenda Whittington;  grandchildren, Frances Mary Ellen Whittington and David Grant Goza; and brother, Bobby Stegall (Jean).
