Betty Rose Beach

Betty Rose Beach, 87, met her precious Lord and Savior face to face on April 12, 2026. She left behind a legacy of unparalleled love, warmth, and strength.

Betty Rose was born on Nov. 6, 1938, to Miriam and Harrison Hennington in Hazlehurst. She attended Draughon’s Business College. Betty Rose was married to the love of her life, Ralph “Rip” Beach, for 57 years. She was a faithful, wonderful, loving wife. They were so proud of their children, Buddy and Marilyn. Betty Rose was a retired purchasing agent for Royal Maid Industries for the Blind and a member of First Baptist Church in Hazlehurst. She loved God, and that love was evident to all who met her. She was a faithful servant who graciously shared her love with everyone.  After the passing of Rip, Pine Crest Guest Home became her home and family. Everyone at Pine Crest loved stopping by her room to visit. Mrs. Beach was very observant of the nurses and always had the last word. They knew to always make sure her hair was brushed and had lipstick on.

Mrs. Beach’s grandchildren were her absolute world. She made no bones about that. She was loved in return by her grandchildren. She was always there to care for and nurture them. There was never a day that they didn’t feel loved. Although she was “bedridden,” that didn’t keep her down or hold her back from being involved in all the things that involved her grandchildren. Simply put, she was the best Mamaw in the world. She played games, put together puzzles, and loved spending time on the front porch watching the children play. She loved spending time in the kitchen cooking and teaching the grandchildren how to do so with her delicious Amish friendship bread. Mamaw loved a good crossword puzzle and always enjoyed reading the newspaper to catch up on all the latest news. Although life sent all the grandchildren in different directions, she still made sure to stay in touch via facetime and make sure she heard from them daily, truly no greater love than their Mamaw. To know her was to love and adore her, just as she did everyone else. Mamaw was loved by many people, and she will live on in their hearts.

Betty Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Miriam and Harrison Hennington; stepfather, George Deberry Hall; her husband, Ralph G. Beach Sr.; brother, Dodds Hennington; and sister, JoAnn Cowart.

Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn Powell (Anthony), of Hattiesburg; grandchildren, Mollie Toney (Eli), Joel Taylor; son, Buddy Beach (Alison); grandchildren, Caroline Hood (Warren), Courtney Renfroe (Hunter); and great-grandchildren, Jada Taylor, Tristan Taylor, Harrison Hood, Elliott Hood, Harper Hood, Ali Rivers Renfroe, Dustin Renfroe, Tripp Toney, and Thaxton Toney.
