If you take a journey down a winding, quiet country road in southern Copiah County at night, chances are that a spooky sensation will fall over you–especially this time of year. A couple who reside on Anderson Road between Timberlanes Road and Beauregard Road have worked to make sure of that.

Mt. Sinai United Methodist Church, 424 Monticello St., Hazlehurst, will honor their musician, Deonte Mazie for his years of dedicated service as pianits Saturday, Oct. 17, at 6 p.m.

The Wesson Lady Cobras defeated the  Franklin County Lady Bulldogs in an 11-1 win Sept. 29.  Wesson had some heavy hitters at bat which helped rack the points up on the scoreboard. To read more about the Lady Cobras, see the Copiah County Courier, on sale throughout Copiah County.

It was a chilly and windy night in Hazlehurst Friday when the Wesson Cobras rolled into town to start district play for both teams. On October 11, Cherokee Rose Chapter, NSDAR, will join approximately 180,000 DAR members in nearly 3,000 chapters across the nation and in 14 foreign countries to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the founding of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
