Melvin “Ronche” Jones

Melvin “Ronche” Jones, 49, of Hazlehurst, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007.

Services were held Saturday, Nov. 24, from Antioch M.B. Church with Rev. Martin Washington officiating. Interment was in White Bay Cemetery with Hazlehurst Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Jones was born Nov. 24, 1957, to General and Margaret Roberson in Linicoln County and lived in the It Community. He graduated from Hazlehurst City Schools and attended Utica Junior College. He was a member of Chapel Hill M.B. Church.

Survivors include: wife, Geneva Anderson Jones; children, Pamela (Jamark) Gilbert of Deltona, FL, Shanta (Tony) Pryor of Brookhaven, Lakesia (Flendo) Virgil, Katrina, Tiffany and Mirical of Hazlehurst; brothers, Johnny Jones of Hazlehurst, Michael (Cynthia) Jones of Fluker, LA, Dennis (Grace) Roberson and General Roberson, Jr. of Ypsilanti, MI; Paul Roberson of Columbus, OH and John Wayne Hooker of Chicago, IL; sisters, Billie Jean Amos of Hazlehurst, Jeanette, Ora Mae, Annie and Judy Roberson, all of Ypsilanti, MI; and 11 grandchildren.
