Glenn Allen “Bip” Miles

Glenn Allen “Bip” Miles, 72, of Crystal Springs, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at his home.

Services were held Friday, Dec. 21, at Harmony Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs is handling arrangements.

Mr. Miles was a member of Harmony Baptist Church where he was a Sunday School teacher for 12 years. He was a member of the Executive Board and a Trustee at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY for six years. Mr. Miles was employed with Sojourner Trucking for 47 years. He was a loving father, grandfather, husband, and brother.

Mr. Miles was preceded in death by his father, George William Miles, and mother, Florence Maudine Alford Miles.

Survivors include: his wife, Ruth Bennett Miles; sons, Michael Glenn Miles of Columbia, TN and Ronnie Slay and wife, Diane of Crystal Springs; daughter, Sheri Stewart and husband, Mike of Magee; sisters, Bobbie Miles Sherrodd of Meridian, Mary George Miles Green of Morton, and Martha Faye Miles Nelson and husband, Sharrell of Jackson; grandchildren, Shannon Gomillion and husband, Donnie of Crystal Springs, Ronnie Slay and wife, Stacey of Crystal Springs, Amiee Dale and husband, Jim of Clinton and Loren Stewart of Magee; 11 great grandchildren; and best friend, Charlie Sojourner.
