A. C. “Carl” Harrison, 90, of Hazlehurst died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008, at Hardy Wilson Memorial Hospital in Hazlehurst.
Services were held Thursday, Feb. 28, from Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst with interment in Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery in Hazlehurst.
A retired painter and sheet rock installer, he was born July 13, 1917, to James Albert Harrison and Pearl Ann Carlisle Harrison in Copiah County. He was married to the former Agnes Ray Corbin on Oct. 12, 1941, and they were the parents of one son, Robert Ray Harrison. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a radio operator on light tanks. After retirement, he enjoyed being the “early morning man” at The Body Shop Gym, owned by his son, Robert. He was a lifetime member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son.
Survivors include: his wife, Agnes Harrison of Hazlehurst; brother, Bennie Fred Harrison and wife Jamie Sue Parrish Harrison of Terry; daughter-in-law, Renee Coates Harrison, of Hazlehurst; four granddaughters, Angela (Rick) Tabor of Glenview, Illinois, Ginger (Tyson) Pate of West Fargo, North Dakota, and Heather Rhea and Holly Renee Harrison of Hazlehurst; and two great-grandsons, Wesley and Bradley Pate of West Fargo, North Dakota.
