Roosevelt ‘Velt’ McLeod

Roosevelt “Velt” McLeod, 71, formerly of Cleveland County, AR, died Thursday, March 13, 2008, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland.

Mr. McLeod was born June 16, 1936 to Bunyan and Namoni Rucker McLeod in Arkansas. His elder sister, Ruth, raised him after his mother died when he was young. He was a logger in Arkansas and after relocating to Mississippi, he worked for Crown Zellebach setting trees.

Survivors include: sister, Ruth Washington of Hazlehurst; and a brother, Elder Boston (Annie Mae) McLeod of Cleveland County, AR.
