Lee Twain (Dennis) Shannon

Lee Twain (Dennis) Shannon, 47, of Columbus, GA, formerly of Hazlehurst, died Monday, April 7, 2008, in Georgia.

Services were held Sunday, April 13, from Open Door of Deliverance Church in Columbus with interment in White Bay Cemetery in Hazlehurst.

Mr. Shannon was born June 17, 1960 in Hazlehurst to Mirtha Lee and Leon Shannon. He was a 1978 graduate of the Hazlehurst City School District and served in the United States Army for 14 years. He joined Antioch M. B. Church at an early age and at his death was a member of Open Door of Deliverance. He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Shannon and sister, Sharon Sandifer.

Survivors include: daughters, Leticia Ward (Brandon) of Columbus, GA, Serena Washington of St. Louis, MO, Nicole Wilson of Wahiawa, HI; sons, Jason Shannon (Ashlyn) of Savannah, GA, James Small, Jr., Jamez Small and Jamir Bell, all of Columbus, GA; mother, Mirtha Lee Shannon of Hazlehurst; sisters, Bertha Flowers (John) who he referred to as his second mother, Jacqueline Shannon and Constance Shannon, of Hazlehurst; brothers, Robert Shannon (Kathleen) and Gregory Shannon (Shaunda) of Hazlehurst; and two grandchildren.
