Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 30 at Stringer’s Funeral Home in Crystal Springs, Mississippi and 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. celebration of her life on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at First Baptist Church with burial in the Crystal Springs City Cemetery.

Martha was born April 30, 1927, in Crystal Springs and grew up there. She graduated from Crystal Springs Consolidated Schools. She attended Millsaps College where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority and graduated from Ole Miss. Martha  married F.A.(Buddy) McCoy in 1950 and spent the early years of their marriage teaching 3rd Grade at Crystal Springs Consolidated School. Then she went home to rear her two daughters and help run the family business, Biggs Hardware. Buddy and Martha took over the hardware store after the death of her mother and continued operating it until their retirement in 2002. Martha spent many years teaching Bible stories and songs and a love of Sunday School to the three year olds of her church. Throughout the years she was a member of the Book Club, the Friday Bridge Club, Copiah Chapter of the Daughters of American Revolution, and the McDowell Music Club.

Martha will be remembered for her sweet, encouraging spirit and her love of Crystal Springs. Her life is the testimony of a generous, Christian Southern lady.

Martha is survived by her husband of 58 years, Floyd A. (Buddy) McCoy, daughters Mary Dell and Adren; her niece and nephews Leslie Horton, Tully Morrison, Roland Cranford and their families; and a host of dear friends and cousins.

Her parents, J.T. and Mary (Scott) Biggs and sister Amy Morrison predeceased her.

Memorials may be sent to the J.T. Biggs, Jr. Memorial Library and First Baptist Church, both in Crystal Springs.
