Madalyn Butler Marshall

Madalyn Butler Marshall, a native of Wesson, died Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at age 86.

Visitation will be from 11 A. M. until 12 Noon on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

She was a retired employee of the City of Mobile Parks and Recreation Department. She taught kindergarten and was Director of Luscher Playground and Park. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church when she resided in Mobile. She attended Copiah-Lincoln High School and Junior College. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Edwin and Sally Waldrop Butler; her husband Joseph Wallace Marshall; her sisters Willie Mae Wilson, Luanna Castilow, Ida Belle Davis, and Vera Landrum; her brothers Denon Butler, Wiley J. Butler, R. Pearl Butler, Samuel Edward Butler, Calvin Butler, and Adrian Butler.

Survivors include: son Steven Butler Marshall, of Biloxi, MS; daughters Sharon Blair of Ocala, FL, Linda Williams of Daphne, AL, and Janet Holmes of Ocala, FL; grandsons Steven Holmes, Alan Williams, and Brian Daniel, and granddaughters Krista Svejda and Susan Williams.
